She recently got married to her long time partner, Matt, in June of 2019.

Work experience

Bossy Know-It-All (also known as Teacher)

2001- present

Having taught band, orchestra, color guard, music history and general music at one point or another since 2001, Erin has found she's really good at bossing others around, and correcting children's behavior in grocery stores during the summers. She is in her 18th year of teaching, and beginning her 15th year in her current post as head orchestra director for a junior high in the North Texas area. Erin is also one of the conductors of the Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra where she is starting her ninth season with a very talented group of young musicians, blending musical cultures from the East and West.

She first became interested in calligraphy as a young child, having found her uncle's calligraphy set to be fascinating. Several ink spills and ruined table cloths later, she has spent her free time learning new styles of calligraphy and applying them when given the opportunity. Her students keep her busy with Name Art requests, and keep a running list of whose turn it is to get their name done. Working with Sharpies, Prismacolor markers and colored pencil isn't the medium she had expected to enjoy most, but it's certainly easier to clean up after than India ink.

The woodworking is a relatively new obsession. It turns out that this hobby is expensive to support, so selling items became necessary. It's always a little sad to see a fine piece go home with someone else, but satisfying to be able to support the continued creation of fine woodworking projects. The process of creating it is the driving force.
